BITTERNESS:
I believe that bitterness is quicksand; it keeps us right where we are at today and restricts us from tomorrow. It would be very easy for me to become bitter through all the obstacles that Robbie & I have faced over the past 5 years, and I have struggle staying out of the bitterness swamp. I remind myself that God knows where I have been and knows where I am going, I am merely just along for the ride. I can stay happy and focused or miserable with bitterness. I cannot control my destiny only God can and when I relinquished my life to God I let go of the steering wheel. Have you ever tried to drive a car from the backseat? Yeah, impossible, so let go of the steering wheel. Let God drive for a while. It is okay to get tired and feel that life is too heavily weighted on your shoulder; He wants us to buckle at the knees every now and then. Being on your knees is not such a bad place, yes it's scary, but while you are down there, spending time doing "knee" mail, the only place you can go is up. So stand up firm in Gods faith, dust yourself off and step out into the world wearing Gods armor. (Ephesians 6:10-18) Carry yourself with dignity and walk alone if you have to. I have family, immediate family that thinks I am a liar, mean spirited, and I could let it get me down. I could sit quietly in a corner on Sunday while they have their Sunday dinner, never once inviting me or my family. I could have bitterness at them for making fun of me and my husband's heart condition on Facebook, but I don't. I believe that God causes us to cross paths every single day with two types of people. People that will embrace us, pray for us, make us an important part of their life with no strings attached. Then, there are those you pass that need all the forgiveness, grace from God and prayers from you. Learn to let those people find their own destiny. You do not have to continue to make those people apart of your life every single day, but you do have to display an image of Christ when you speak, gesture, or mention their name. Do it all with grace, spread God's love with empathy, heartfelt emotions, sincere thoughts, and earnest prayers.
If you boldly confess your desire to rid your life of bitterness to God, he may not take the things or people that cause you to feel this pain away, but he will supply you with enough grace to transition through today. Speak openly, honestly and sincerely to God, tell Him your fear, pains, hurts. Let Him divvy them up in the appropriate trash bins and reinforce you with happiness, cheerfulness and amazing faith that can move mountains.
Let go and Let God take the reins, he's a male, they like to lead.
(Don't worry God is one man that never gets lost) ha-ha joke!
God Bless your Tuesday!
Bible Verse:
Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
