Don't let people limit you!!

During your life you will come across people who are either for you or against you. Those that always accept you for who you are will always be there for you because they look out for your best interest. They will not judge you, but will promote you.

Then you have those that no matter what you do it never seem to be enough. These types of people do not help to grow your spiritual walk and often try to limit your success in any way they can. These types of relationships are not healthy and can be very toxic if you allow them to defeat your God directed spiritual growth.

Hebrews 13:6

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

I believe the devil constantly surveys our lives and sends people into our lives to disrupt the good works that God is creating in us. God sends people into our lives to surround us, to help us up and to make burdens easier to bear. Our job as Christian followers of God is to realize that every day is not going to be filled with happiness of an easy life. Each day brings about its own obstacles and trials, but if we are equipped with the friendships that God has planted in our lives we are always one step ahead of the devil. The devil will often make someone who “seems” to care, but deep down their motives are merely selfish. Not to judge at all, but until they witness the full protection of Gods amazing love, it is very hard for them to practice unselfish and unconditional love & support to others.

1 Peter 5:8

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the

devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Friends that are not of Christ will tempt you to sin & distract you from believing that God is ultimately in control. They will not see the God in moments or help you to be cautious when the devil is lurking around the corner. A true Christian friend will call you out when you are fixing to jump into a pot of boiling water. A friend that is not based out of the love of Christ will ask if you want some company, making you feel like they have your best interest at heart. To the outside having a friend that would join you “appears” better, but it is not. The true friend, the one that tried to help you avoid the pain may seem as though they are hindering you from doing what you want, but the truth is they love you enough; they care enough about you and your spiritual walk to protect you. Learn to see that true friends are not trying to keep you from having a good time, but are helping you realize that those good times will more than likely end in pain that could have been avoided.

John 15:9

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.

The enemy will use the ungratefulness of people to discourage the good impact you are having on others. He will whisper daily, “you are not doing well; you are no blessing to anyone.” But look when no one is giving you praise or positive feedback you are definitely making a difference. When you receive negative feedback you know the enemy is still on attack mode proving you are definitely on the right track.

Galatians 6:9

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up

QUOTES:

“The way I see it, if you want a rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”

Dolly Parton

“If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”

Joan Collins

We cannot pick and choose the people that will come in and out of our life, but we don’t have to accept the ones that do not believe in us. We have the right to yoke ourselves with believers. To constantly build ourselves up and help influence our Christian walk with God. Those that put up road blocks and make us constantly stop and become weak and distracted are not supporting us and may be ruled by jealousy. Take a look around yourself, are you surrounded by positive and uplifting friends that want nothing but the best for you? Or are you surrounded by leaches that just like to cling to you and make each obstacle more difficult to bear? Don’t feel stuck by the company you keep, repack your bags, get new friends and keeping trucking in God’s word. Don’t stay in the comfort zone, keep yourself on the edge of your seat and fully aware of the impact those around you are having on your lives. If you are comfortable then the devil is leaving you alone and that is very scary. I feel more secure in my walk with Christ when I am fighting off the devil because I know that if the devil is mad then God is glad.

2 Samuel 22:3

My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,

My shield, and the horn of my salvation,

My stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence

Don’t be scared to walk alone at times. During our transition into a fully trusting relationship with God there are going to be times you stand alone. God already knows this, he has walked every single footstep you will every walk. He has cleared all the pathways and promises to carry you when you are fearful or scared. Cast all your burdens on Him and he will sustain you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will comfort you. He will give you strength. He will fight your battles. He will heal the sick, and bless the poor. God has so many amazing promises that are for real, very trustable promises that are backed by scripture. You may be let down by everyone around you and feel like you cannot trust a single person, but with God you never have a single regret. He never lets you down.

Psalms 118:8

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

One thing we have to remember during our walk with Christ is to not only go to God during the times of struggle, but to approach God with the thanksgiving of praises. You may always be limited by those around with you with bouts of negativity, and it doesn’t feel good to always have the bad things brought to your attention. God is the same way; he doesn’t want us to just come to Him during times of struggle, when we feel we cannot possibly take another step. He wants us to come to Him throughout the good and the bad. Go to God when you are happy & sad. Learn to recognize the good in the bad situations, the God in every situation. Praise God for the trials, find the God in the trials and thank Him for never turning His back on you. When you feel broken down and beaten, one perfect man always remains in your corner rooting for you, God. Learn to trust Him completely even when those around you seem to “try” to limit your success.

Joshua 24:15

And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
