ME Becoming God's Best Version of Me:
"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life- and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him." Romans 12:1:
How my experiences can help me become God's best version of me:
- Regard my work as spiritual.
…God's gift to us is the happiest we get from our food and drink and from the work we do. Ecclesiastes 3:13 (CEV)
One person enjoys good things as a result of his speaking ability. Another is paid according to what his hands have accomplished. Proverbs 12:14 (GW)
Servants, do what you're told by your earthly masters. And don't just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you'll get paid in full when you come into your Inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you're serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn't cover up bad work. Colossians 3:22-25 (Msg)
- Respond to adversity with hope.
Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad-for these trials make you partners of Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world. 1 Peter 4:12-13 (NLT)
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:3-5 (NLT)
And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans. Romans 8:28 (TLB)
- Request an assignment from God.
By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. Hebrews 11:33-34 (NLT)
…I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power. Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
Jesus looked hard at them and said, "No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it." Matthew 19:26 (Msg)
